Abstract

Background : The Covid-19 pandemic is an outbreak of an infectious respiratory disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus. This disease was first discovered in Wuhan, China at the end of December 2019, then spread to many countries including Indonesia. To suppress its spread, the government takes social distancing, quarantine and lockdown measures that make people feel isolated, bored, afraid, worried and lonely so that it can increase stress and anxiety. This psychological impact can worsen the patient's health condition. Giving classical music therapy can increase relaxation and reduce anxiety. Objective : To determine the effect of classical music therapy on the anxiety level of covid-19 patients in the covid-19 isolation room of the dr. S. Hardjolukito Yogyakarta. Research Methods : This study used a pre-experimental study with a one group pretest-protest design by providing classical music therapy treatment for 3 days with a duration of 20 minutes. The population and sample in this study were 10 respondents. Sampling was done by purposive sampling technique. Anxiety level measurement tool using HARS. Data analysis with Wilcoxon test. Results : The majority of respondents who experience anxiety are female as many as 8 people (80%), aged between 41-50 years 5 people (50%), with an educational background of high school graduates 6 people (60%) and the majority of respondents working as entrepreneurs as many as 4 people (40%). There is a difference in the average value of the pre-test anxiety level of 24,20 and the post-test anxiety level decreased by 16,90. Results of data analysis showed a p value = 0.004 or <0.05 which indicated that classical music was effective in reducing anxiety levels of Covid-19 patients. Conclusion : Classical music therapy affect the level of anxiety in covid-19 patients in the covid-19 isolation room at the RSPAU dr. S. Hardjolukito Yogyakarta
