Abstract
Background : Urinary tract stones is one of the three major urological global diseases. Water intake is very important for the continuity of the metabolic processes in human body, lack of water intake in human body can cause disruption of homeostasis physiology as hypersaturation urine that induce a urinary tract stones. Research Objective : To determine the correlation between water consumption behavior and the incidence of urinary tract stones in hospitalized patients in Camar room RSPAU dr Suhardi Hardjolukito Yogyakarta. Research Methods : This is a quantitative analytic survey research with a cross sectional approach. The sampling technique is a purposive sampling with 59 respondents. The tools that used in data collection is the drinking water behavior questionnaires and the data were analyzed using the chi square test. Results : Most respondents (55,9%) have a well water for drink, (83,1%) respondents have a positively behavior in the processing of water for drink and (55,9%) respondents have a negatively behavior to fulfill the frequency and the amount of drink water in one days. The results of the bivariate test using chi square obtained p-value = 0.172 for the correlation between the source of water for drink and the incidence of urinary tract stones, p-value = 0.184 for the correlation between water processing method for drink and the incidence of urinary tract stones, p-value = 0.000 for correlation between the frequency and the accumulated amount of drink water in a day with the incidence of urinary tract stones. Conclusion : There is a significant correlation between the frequency and the accumulated amount of drink water in a day with the incidence of urinary tract stones , but there is no significant correlation between the source of water and the way of processing water for drink with the incident of urinary tract stones in hospitalized patients in Camar Room RSPAU dr Suhardi Harjolukito Yogyakarta.
