Abstract

Background: Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19)was a new illnes caused by SARS-CoV-2 virus, that was spread and makes mild to severe symptomps, that common with the Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS). On the severe symptoms patient one of the symptoms is desaturation, which the saturatio is ≤ 92%, the prone position can be expected to help oxygenation optimalitation. Purpose: The purpose of this research is to know the effect of prone position to oxygen saturation of the COVID-19 patient in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) COVID ward RSPAU dr. S. Hardjolukito Yogyakarta. Metode: Metode of this research is experimental kuantitative, with pre-experimental one group pre test - post test design, and used purposive sampling techniq The sample is 10 patients who have cared in the ICU COVID ward, with compare oxygen saturation before prone position during 30 minutes with oxygen saturation after done prone position use pulse oxymetri. We use sample paired t test in the bivariat analysis. Result: We used bivariat sample paired t test on bivariat analysis, p value 0,00 < 0.05. it,s mean there is effect prone position to oxygen saturation. Oxygen saturation mean before prone position is 90,4% (SD : 0.268), and after prone position 30 minutes, oxygen saturation mean is 96,9% (SD : 0.485), oxygen saturation increased 6,5%. Conclusion: There is effect of prone position to oxygen saturation of the COVID-19 patients in the ICU COVID RSPAU dr. S. Hardjolukito Yogyakarta.
